Novelty 2026: Diesel locomotive KM 4000 in the version of SP 9022 in modified form. The original SP KM 4000 locomotives began their life as almost identical triplets. Over the years, however, they were modified and became clearly distinguishable from each other. The accurate PIKO reproductions show the locomotives as they appeared in the mid-1960s, taking into account structural and color-specific features. These include side air intake grilles, filter boxes, and roof vents, as well as exposed exhaust systems with flap valves. The locomotive also faithfully reproduces the color features of SP 9100.

The powerful motor, in combination with perfectly balanced flywheels, ensures smooth running. The various lighting functions are implemented in state-of-the-art LED technology and can be easily digitally controlled using a suitable decoder. The sound versions are factory-equipped with a sound decoder and matching speaker. The locomotives do not feature a NEM coupler pocket.
