Novelty 2026: Elegance and power at high speed – the E 19 class
For the revolution of rail transport at the end of the 1930s, the German Reichsbahn developed the E 19 class, one of the fastest and most elegant electric locomotives of its time. Designed for operation on the fully electrified Berlin – Halle (Saale) – Munich route, a top speed of 180 km/h was planned, with reserves for speeds of over 200 km/h. On the steep gradients of the Franconian Forest, the locomotive was still intended to achieve 60 km/h. With the withdrawal of the last locomotive, E 19 002, in 1978, active service came to an end. Today, E 19 01 has been preserved as an impressive testament to German electric locomotive history.
Version with the characteristic post-mounted lamps of Era IV and delicate pantographs of type SBS 39/54 | With fine handrails, UIC sockets and separate centrifugal governor | Separate sandbox covers, axle bearing covers and battery boxes | Factory-fitted PSD XP decoder with sound and a wide range of functions | Separately fitted windscreen wipers, roof lines and insulators | In digital operation with switchable cab and control desk lighting
