GER:G Zweikraftlok BR 249 Vectron "dual mode" DB AG VI

Novelty Fall 2026: The Class 249, also known as the Vectron Dual Mode light, was developed by Siemens specifically for DB Cargo's freight transport operations. It combines the advantages of an electric locomotive with those of a diesel locomotive and can switch flexibly between the two types of traction. This eliminates the need for a locomotive change on the so-called “last mile”. Production takes place at the Siemens plant in Munich-Allach. The Class 249 is primarily used for regional and single-wagon traffic.
