Novelty 2025: The Class 187, the first representative of what is now Bombardiers third Traxx series, is a state-of-the-art electric bogie locomotive for systems with 15 kV and 16.7 Hz as well as 25 kV 50 Hz alternating current. A special feature of the new locomotive is its 180 kW diesel auxiliary motor, which enables it to travel at around 50 km/h over short sections of line not covered by overhead contact lines.
