GER: Sound-E-Lok E 17 DR III Wechselstromversion, inkl. PIKO Sound-Decoder

Novelty Fall 2026: The E 17 123 electric locomotive of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) was one of the last representatives of the E 17 class, which had already been developed in the late 1920s, to remain in the DR fleet. After the Second World War, only two locomotives of this class, E 17 123 and E 17 124, remained in the GDR. Both locomotives had previously been in service in Silesia and were transferred to the Soviet Union as reparations after the end of the war. They returned to the GDR in 1952 and were put back into service in 1957. The E 17 123 was subsequently used on the electrified network in central Germany, hauling passenger trains, before being retired and scrapped in 1968. The detailed model faithfully reproduces the characteristic features of the E 17 123 as operated by the DR. The locomotive is factory-fitted with a suitable PSD XP sound decoder and the largest possible speaker.

The model bears the "fits mfx®" quality mark. In order to ensure that digital decoders can be used reliably by all users of current Märklin digital control units, a new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced in cooperation with Märklin and other manufacturers. This mark may only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test.
These decoders, as well as the locomotives in which they are installed, bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products featuring the "fits mfx®" logo now also fully support the wide range of mfx® functions.
